Los Alerces National Park, located northwest of the province of Chubut – Patagonia, bordering Chile. It protects the Lahuán and Larch forests. Waterfalls and emerald green lakes surround the millenary Alerce forest, on the northern arm of Lake Menendez. It contains the largest portion of Valdivian rainforest on Argentine soil. It is the natural habitat of the Pudú, Kodkod cat, Huemul, and sightings of the Torrent Duck and Araucana Pigeon, among other species.
